built for developers stuck at the gate.
testpact exists because launching an android app should not depend on begging strangers, chasing ghost testers, or trusting shady testing farms.
the origin story.
when google play introduced the mandatory closed-testing requirement, it created a massive launch bottleneck for independent android developers.
developers without an existing audience were suddenly forced into messy manual workflows: collecting emails on reddit, joining disorganized test-for-test whatsapp groups, constantly reminding people to open the app, and crossing their fingers hoping nobody would drop out on day 12.
worse, the existing alternatives optimized for quick installs, not sustained engagement. it created a black market of bots and device farms that put developers at risk of permanent account bans. testpact was built to make the testing process structured, accountable, and fundamentally less fake.
what we believe.
our core principles for building the marketplace.
01 — real testing beats fake installs.
app quality is improved by human friction. bot farms and automated scripts give you a green checkmark, but they don't tell you why your app crashes on a samsung s21.
02 — proof matters more than promises.
trust is good, but verifiable proof is better. developers deserve to know if a tester actually opened their app and interacted with it today.
03 — indie developers deserve infrastructure.
enterprise studios have dedicated qa teams and internal beta pools. solo developers deserve professional-grade launch infrastructure that scales with them.
04 — trust must be designed in.
you can't just ask a community to "be nice." you have to build economic incentives, accountability layers, and reputation systems that naturally filter out bad actors.
how we do it.
testpact is a mobile-first marketplace built on verifiable actions.
structured pacts.
clear, upfront agreements between developers and testers on exactly what is required for the next 14 days.
verified daily sessions.
testers must complete daily interaction requirements to maintain their streak and reputation.
screen-frame proof.
optional, consent-based visual proof captured strictly during active sessions to guarantee actual engagement.
credit economy.
testers earn in-app credits for reliable work, which developers spend to fund their own pacts.
the "today" dashboard.
a centralized, mobile-first view showing exactly what tasks you owe today, complete with push reminders.
marketplace ratings.
a persistent reputation system that rewards reliable users and aggressively filters out flakes and fraudsters.
what testpact is not.
the horizon.
testpact is starting by solving the immediate, painful bottleneck of android closed-testing compliance.
however, our broader vision is to build trustworthy, proof-of-engagement testing infrastructure across more platforms and use cases. as the platform matures, we intend to explore expanded tester roles, broader platform support (like ios and web), managed testing tiers, and smarter qa workflows.
note: these are future roadmap directions, not currently live features. our immediate focus remains entirely on perfecting the android 14-day testing experience.
